How to Block Porn on Mac With 1Focus
Here’s how to block pornography websites with 1Focus. Block unlimited sites across Safari, Chrome, Brave, Edge, Opera, and Arc.
Block Pornography Category
1Focus lets you block the website category Pornography. It contains popular porn sites and user suggestions. However, it’s very difficult to maintain a complete list because there are millions of porn sites and hundreds of new ones appear every day.
You can add any missing websites under Blocked Websites.
Block URL Keywords
You can block URL keywords to block many porn sites at once.
OpenDNS Family Shield
For even better porn blocking, use the free OpenDNS Family Shield along with 1Focus. You can prevent disabling it by blocking the System Settings under Apps in 1Focus. You can still use the Control Center in the menu bar to access many settings (settings icon in the top right of your screen).
Screen Time
You can enable adult content blocking in Apple’s Screen Time under Content & Privacy. This also enforces SafeSearch in popular search engines like Google to filter out adult content. However, we found that Screen Time sometimes blocks harmless webpages.
Allowlist
Another solution is to block all websites except specific ones. 1Focus is particularly good for this because it lets you create separate task presets for different types of work. Meaning each preset can allow only the specific websites and apps required to complete the task and block everything else for laser focus.
