Self-Introduction

Hello. I’m Kate, a psychologist and performance coach.

I started my journey through the fitness and nutrition jungle at the age of 13. At that time, I realized that one of the main reasons I felt so uncomfortable with my body was that I had put on a few extra pounds during puberty. To improve my well-being, I decided to lose weight. Since my will was strong and my method was very effective (at least in the short term), I fell below the limit of underweight after only a few months.

Although I was very proud of my dietary successes achieved through “hard discipline,” I continued to be dissatisfied with my figure. I began to suffer more and more from the physical, psychological, and social consequences of my restrictive eating habits and underweight. Knowing (more or less) that things couldn’t go on like this, I joined a gym for the first time when I was 16. I wanted to build muscle in a targeted and clean way to get out of being underweight and to strengthen and shape my body to the way I wanted it to be.

Strength training fascinated me so much from day one that I went all in here as well. Since I suspected that my metabolism had to be deeply adapted due to years of too low-calorie intake, I was so afraid of the yo-yo effect that I did not dare to eat more calories despite the daily hard training.

I had my goal in mind. At the same time, it was essential for me to have absolute control over my muscular and metabolic development at all times. Since I felt that I could not trust any of the trainers available to me and that they were trying to help me with sometimes contradictory recommendations, I decided to take matters into my own hands and acquire the knowledge I needed to implement my plans safely. I completed numerous highly qualified courses in nutrition and training. Shortly after that, I began working in a gym.

As I became increasingly aware of the fascinating connection between mind and body, I decided to study psychology parallel to my business studies. I wanted to explore this connection in detail and make the most of it.

I quickly realized that I wanted to work in a field where I could combine my skills and use my extensive knowledge and experience to help other people recognize and use their full physical and mental potential.

In January 2023, I finally realized my dream and went into business with my boyfriend (who has a similarly inspiring story to tell) under the name Body meets Brain.
